WP7 Updates: Multitasking, IE9, Cross-platform Gaming

Windows Phone 7 would get its much needed software update that will bring the basic stuff to WP7, bringing them inline with the current gen smartphone OSes: iOS & Android.

XBLA cross-platform gaming is also coming. So what this means is that XBox games are making their way to WP7 devices.

We had compiled a list of Windows Phone 7 Software updates 2011 Roadmap, here are few latest updates:

March 2011:

* Performance improvements,
* cut and paste,
* support for CDMA radios to the platform.

Mid-Late 2011:

* Full version of Internet Explorer 9 with hardware acceleration on the phone (no flash).
* “wave of multitasking applications” Multitasking, but it could be limited to some apps.
* Better social integration with Twitter into the People Hub, and Office document cloud support will be added.
* Cross-platform gaming
